Trinidad & Tobago provided probably one of the biggest shocks in reaching Germany 2006. Things didn't look good initially when after three matches in the final qualifying stage they'd only secured one point. However things turned around when Dutch coach Leo Beenhakker took over, lifting the spirit of the team and setting them on the way to changing their fortunes.
After a few significant wins and a couple of hard-fought defeats, it all came down to needing a win in the final game against Mexico, requiring a Herculean performance. Amazingly they beat the odds and beat them 2-1 securing them a play-off against Bahrain and the rest is Caribbean history.
Some of the squad ply their trade in England and they will relish the challenge of trying to put a dent in England's hopes of glory at the World Cup. Whether they can once again challenge for a place beyond the groups stage remains to be seen but they'll enjoy every minute of it. [Latest Trinidad & Tobago Squad News]
