Another debutante at the World Cup finals, Togo have surprised many in qualifying. Little was expected of them and with a defeat at the hands of Equatorial Guinea early on they showed no reason to consider them. However, things turned around dramatically following a win against the group favourites, Senegal, and they followed that with an unbeaten run of seven games. Initially hoping to finish in the top three of their group, coach Stephen Keshi saw they could challenge for a place in Germany and pushed them to achieve something believed beyond their reach.
Togo will be out to impress and enjoy themselves at their first finals and if they somehow get out of group G then that would likely be enough to cause epic celebrations at home. [Latest Togo Squad News]
