The Swiss haven't qualified for the World Cup finals since 1994 and that was their only showing since the Sixties. With a young and ambitious squad they'll be looking to make this their best finals so far, and some believe they may throw up a few surprises in Germany.
Switzerland were undefeated in the qualifiers, but in what proved to be a very tight group they only just held on to the second spot, just edging out Israel right at the end. They were then lucky to survive the play-off against Turkey, going through by virtue of the away-goals rule.
Having held France to two draws in the qualifying group already they've shown they're not intimidated by the big boys and must fancy their chances of doing well this time. [Latest Switzerland Squad News]
