The Swiss haven't qualified for the World Cup finals since 1994 and that was their only showing since the Sixties. With a young and ambitious squad they'll be looking to make this their best finals so far, and some believe they may throw up a few surprises in Germany.
Switzerland were undefeated in the qualifiers, but in what proved to be a very tight group they only just held on to the second spot, just edging out Israel right at the end. They were then lucky to survive the play-off against Turkey, going through by virtue of the away-goals rule.
