This is Serbia and Montenegro's first run at the World Cup finals having previously played under the banner of Yugoslavia until 2003, and will go into the tournament not having lost a match since the summer of 2003 when Ilija Petkovic took the team over.
They finished the qualifying group with six wins and four draws, and managed to finish above Spain. If that wasn't enough they go to Germany with the best defence in Europe from those qualifiers, having let in just one goal.
Serbia and Montenegro have a few international stars among their dedicated squad and work hard for each other. They surprised a few people in getting to Germany and might surprise a few more if they manage to get out of Group C. [Latest Serbia & Montenegro Squad News]
