2006 Fifa World Cup Stadiums - Dortmund

Dortmund World Cup Stadium

The Dortmund stadium is home to Borussia Dortmund and when they play the stadium is nearly always full, with 25,000 fans roaring from the South Stand.

The stadium has had two periods of redevelopment recently, in 2001 to join up the four stands and increase capacity, and 2005 to add back rests to the lower tier seats, a new VIP section, and a new electronic access system, along with some other refurbishments.

Dortmund will be the arena for Germany and Brazil, amongst others, in the opening fixtures of the 2006 World Cup competition.
